Sandy Rose Floral

My role at Sandy Rose, legendary provider of all things floral for film and TV, was multifaceted. I visited the old warehouse as the team was preparing to relocate, and jumped in to help, becoming deeply familiar with their vast inventory of faux flowers and props. I was invited to assist the designers and warehouse managers full time- I jumped from project to project, listening in on consultations with set decorators and propmasters, laying out show n tells for big orders, taking part in assembly line arrangement, often hidden behind the fluffy 12’ garland or pile of hydrangea boxes I carried- and on slower days, chipping away at long term digitization and streamlining goals using Propcart. It was a truly special opportunity to gain invaluable insight into the convergent worlds of set decoration and floral design; to observe the trends of an ever-changing industry, the resilience of its vendors; and to play a part in the time-honored traditions of filmmaking in Hollywood.
